Important dining information

  • We offer a 15 minute grace period. If you’re running late, please let us know otherwise, we may need to release your table to waiting or walk-in guests.

  • Reservations are for up to 2 hours from the original booking time, including late arrivals. As we have limited seating and operate two sittings, we kindly ask that tables are returned in time for the next seating.

    During busy periods and special occasions, particularly Friday and Saturday evenings, we may occasionally need the table a little earlier. When availability allows, you’re very welcome to stay longer.

  • We’ll always do our best to accommodate seating preferences & special requests however they cannot be guaranteed.

  • For parties of up to 6, cancellations, no-shows or reductions in numbers within 6 hours of the booking will incur a $50 per person fee and/or forfeiture of any prepaid deposit. For parties of 7 or more, 48 hours’ notice is required.

    During peak periods and special occasions including Fridays, Saturdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas and New Year, Easter, Melbourne Cup etc and public holidays - at least 24 hours’ notice is required for all party sizes.

    Credit card details are securely handled by SevenRooms and Stripe. A non-refundable 3% processing fee applies to deposits in accordance with their pre-payment and booking processing requirements.

  • For parties of 7 or more, we may ask all guests to dine from our tasting menu. Young diners can often be accommodated differently, so please let us know in advance.

    Separate reservations for guests dining as part of the same party will be treated as one group booking, whether tables are requested together, nearby or separately. The same group booking conditions apply to the entire party, including tasting menu requirements and a 10% service charge.

    A minimum spend may also apply to group bookings during the peak periods and special occasions outlined above. The 10% service charge does not count towards the minimum spend.

  • Please let us know about medical-related dietary requirements as early as possible by emailing info@bysang.com.au. Last-minute requests or changes may not always be possible.

    While we do our best to accommodate most dietary requirements, certain religious requirements and personal preferences may not be possible and some special dietary requests may incur an additional charge.

    We reserve the right to decline requests based solely on personal preference, as well as medical dietary requirements that are excessively complex or impractical to accommodate safely in a restaurant setting.

  • Allergies and intolerances will be accommodated to the best of our ability. However, egg, shellfish, dairy, gluten, nuts, sesame and other allergens are handled in the same kitchen.

    While equipment is sanitised and all reasonable care is taken, cross-contamination cannot be completely eliminated and we cannot accept responsibility for adverse reactions. Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies are kindly advised not to consume our food, as we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or assume liability should a reaction occur.

  • Guests of all ages are warmly welcome at by Sang. For everyone’s comfort and safety, we kindly ask that all guests, including little ones, remain seated throughout their visit.

  • While we offer an extensive wine list, we understand you may have a special bottle you’d like to enjoy. BYO is available for parties of up to 6 and is limited to standard 750ml bottles of wine only.

    Magnums and other large-format bottles are not permitted. A strict maximum of 2 bottles applies per booking with corkage of $35 for the first bottle and $50 for the second.

  • To ensure smooth service, we kindly ask that the bill be settled in a single transaction. Split bills and split payments are not available.

  • A 10% surcharge applies on Sundays and a 15% surcharge on public holidays.
